Develish By: Maureen Johnson #5 THE FINAL

So far Jane haven't slept for days trying to  figure out the plan how to safe Allison. Jane decided to go to Lanalees house and tell her to take her instead of Allison.  When she arrived to Lanalees house, Lanalee was very excited to see Jane there. They talked and Lanalee told her the only way she will leave Allison alone is if Elton(Allisons boyfriend, Janes ex-boyfriend) will hiss her in the puddle prom. Only there was one problem! Jane could not go to the poddle prom because she was expelled from school. Knowing Jane she gets hired as a food server and sneaks into the puddle prom. She sees Elton with Allison and Jane knows that there is nothing that she can do to make Elton kiss her.

To make a long ending short Jane does not get Elton kiss her however after the puddle prom Allison tells Lanalee that she completely played Lanalee and there is nothing she can do about it because Allison does not care about the whole sole selling think. Lanalee was angry with everyone and all of them went on the top of the roof, and jumped off the roof. Even Allison, and Jane did not believe what just happened again. After a while she saw Allison coming tords her and she could not understand how she did not die jumping of that roof. Howeve she found out that it was not Allison, only Allisons body but Lanalee  took the control off it . Jane was sooo mad she did not know what to do, so she went to Owen to ask for help. Owen told her that there is nothing else she can do. However Jane did not want to loose her best friend.

The strange man that Jane meat gave his this huge knife and told her that he only way to kill a demon is to trick them. So with that advice she went to Lanalees house and started her plan. She got all the people that sold their soles to Lanalee on her side and Lanalee was angry. Jane took a swing at Lanalees feet and cut of all of her toes. However when Jane turned around and looked away Lanalee attacked her, " I think i laughed when the knife went in. At least, I made the motion, but blood came out of my mouth instead. I remember seeing the perfume bottles on the mantelpiece as I fell back and, aside from the faint, some what implausible realization that I was dying, nothing else"(Jane).  When Jane woke up she was in so much pain and covered with million of cards. She knew she was at the hospital and the she saw her mom. The bed next to her was Allison laying down, with her eyes shut. Owen came to see her and he was so happy that she was still alive. He told her everything that happened, and that Lanalee is gone because she attached Jane.

Jane did it !!!!!! She saved her best friend from an evil demon  Lanalee!!!!

As I read more I do not want to put this book down. It is keeping me on the edge of my chair and that is what kind of books i like!! I left of with my last post when Jane went to Lanalees house to tell her to stop messing with peoples minds and stop stealing peoples souls. After that Jane was walking home and this random grown up men started asking her questions. He said he was new in town and that he wants to know something about the town. Also he said that Jane is a very intelligent young lady. Jane did not think it he was weird because, the man was very nice.

The day before Jane got in trouble at school. She was talking back to teachers and the private school is deciding of kicking Jane out of school. When Jane came home her parents told her that right now it is the best if Jane moves schools. Jane parents told her that she is transferring to different school all the way in other state! Jane freaked out because how is she going to save her best friend Allison from demon Lanalee?  All Jane needs is more time to get the demon stuff away. After the parent talk Owen called Jane and told her that she needs to come out right now. It was late at night so Jane had to sneak out of the house. When Jane went outside Owen took her to an old building. really fast he took out a gun and shot himself in front of her. Jane could not understand what just happened, she was so scared that passed out when she saw Owen in the pool of blood.

When she opened her eyes the first think she saw was Owen like nothing happened, and the strange man that she meat before.Owen told her that he wanted to show her that if he dies nothing happens to him because he is a demon. The men explained that he was a demon also like Owen the good demons, and they are going to help Jane to save her best friend Allison from the dangerous Lanalee. However Owen told Jane that she has to do it all by herself because they cannot interfere with Lanalee. That is one of the rules made long time ago between them.

I cannot wait to find out how this book will end!!!

We are finding so many interesting things that is finally giving a lot for answers to many questions! Jane just found out that Allison has sold her sol to the demon Lanalee and that is the reason why she has acting so weird. Also Jane found out that Elton is dating her best friends how does that happen?

Jane is trying to think how to help Allison. The guy she meat Owen wont leave her alone also. She finally calls him back and agrees to hang out with him. Owen tells Jane that he is a demon also but a different kind of demon. Owen is a demon that saves the people from the bad demons that want to steal peoples sols. This all situation is so overwhelming to Jane and she does not know what to do. So she decides to go to Lanalees house and tell her to stop messing with peoples brains.

Jane goes to Lanalees house. She finds out that she lives with the other guy who she convinced to sell her sol to. He is there as her maid pretty much. So Jane tells Lanalee that what she is doing is complete nonsense and she should stop doing that to peoples minds. Also Lanalee is pushing Jane to eat these cupcakes but Jane knows that there is something wrong with it and does not eat it.

SO WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far the book has me hooked and I just want to read more and more. Jane has not seen her best friend Allison for a long time and recently she has cute clotting, different hair and everything seems so different. Each time Jane asks her to hang out she has some kind of excuse that she cannot. One day on the way home Jane meats a guy named Owen who helps her out after she falls down in the rain. Owen seems very young however he acts completely grown up and he shows a lot of interest tors her.

Since Allison does not want to hang out with Jane, Jane decided to fallow one day Allison to see what is her real deal with this being so busy all the time. Jane fallowed her all the way to her ex-boyfriend house. She could not believe with her eyes when she saw Elton(Janes ex-boyfriend) open the doors and kiss Allison. Jane turn around and ran home crying not able to figure out how her so called best friend could do this to her. She came home crying and the next day she told to Allison what she saw. Allison said that after Jane broke up with Elton it just was this huge connection between them and there was nothing else to do but for them to go out. So Allison invited Jane to come to town with her and Elton. Jane did not want to do that but she still did it for her friend.

The next day all 3 of them Allison, Jane and Elton took a train to town. It was extremely akword for Jane because she still had feelings for Elton. Allison went to the bathroom and after the while Jane went to check on her because she did not know what to talk about with Elton. When she got to the bathroom she saw Allison with a lot of pills. Jane asked what is going on and what is she doing. Allison said that she will take her life away because Lanalee has taken her soul. Lanalee is a demon. Jane did not believe in that crap and she told her to just walk away from everything however Allison kept on screaming she will kill herself. Jane ran out and called Elton. When Elton got there Allison acted like nothing happened and she told Elton that Jane is going crazy thinking that she is taking her life away.

This is getting extremely interesting because we are finding out that Lanalee is a demon that steals peoples sols!

Devilish by Maureen Johnson #1

Devlish is such a great book and I am not even done reading it. Maureen Johnson is such a great writer. She really knows how to get the readers attention and keep it in the book the whole time.

The main characters of the book is Jane Jarvin and Allison Concord. They both attend Saint Teresa's Preparatory School for Girls. They both ar senors ther and everthing seemed to be okay because they been best friends for the longest time they can remember. Jane just broke up with her boyfriend and Allison got dumped by her prom date so, they both are trying to get true the hard time. On top of everything Allison got sick in the middle of school assembly and immberesed herself even more. Also there is a new girl in school named Lanalee who does not seemed to be careing about anything too much and always seems to get in trouble. This is how Jane describes Lanalee "She was long.(S) Easily six feet, one of which was all neck. The blue stripe on her blazer poclet told me she was a sophomore. The blazer looked very squeaky-new, and I'd never seen ger before.(C) She was the kind of person you would remember if you saw" (20).This is  great discription of Lanalee that Jane thinks is preattty sneaky and very full of herself. She is not scared of anything or does not really think what she says. Lanalee is already making friends and Jane cannot understand that. So while Allison is puking in the bathroom, Lanalee is trying to be her friend an Jane does not understand what is going on.

Allison can see taht Lanalee is different. She does not look like a normal high school student...
This books makes me read more and i can wait to find out what is going to happen next...

The main character is Auden and she just amazing. I think of her as a person that would be my best friend. I learned a lot from this book and from her witch i think it is going to help me even in the future. So a quick summary of this book. Auden main character goes to her dads house for the summer because her parents are divorced. Her dad is marred and they juts had a newborn baby! Auden does not mind that as much but when she gets there she sees that the baby never sleeps and the  house is under a big bubble of stress. Auden when she arrives to the new town does not really know anyone. However on her first walk in a new town she meats couple of new friends witch in the end turn out not to be such a good friends.Audens step mam owns a clothing shop on a beach and Auden starts working there. She likes it and at the same times she makes new friends. She is working and having fun. But one day everything turns out upside down when she meats the guy names Eli. Eli is a dream guy. A guy that any girl would like! They start hanging out and Auden fins out that Eli owns a bike shop and he is very interested in a bike sport. However Auden has a secret, she never learned how to ride a  bike. So  her friends at the shop teach her how to ride a bike and she surprises Eli. The summer goes and Auden and Eli is having fun but at the same time haves so bumpy roads in their relationship also. The summer ends however Auden becomes more self confident and she finds love of her life!! If you do not believe what the book is about check it out yourself!:)

This book is just so much fun to read! I finished so quickly because it is just so interesting! If you want to have fun while reading a book you have to read Along for the ride by Sarah Deseen.

  Letter to  the main character: 

Dear Auden,

I would like to start with saying I am so proud of you for becoming who you are now. You have changed a lot and changed for the better. Now let me tackle you with some questions that I have. First of all how is you baby step sister? Is she starting to not to cry as much and sleep better? I hope so because I know there was a lot of struggles for you when you were there to visit your dad. Now how is your dad and Haidy? Is your dad finally finish his book and is he living back at home with Haidy and the baby? I hope he is because Haidy seems very nice and I am sure she needs help with the baby.

So I heard that last summer you worked for Haidy at the swim shop. Sorry but I cannot imagine you working at that place :) does it look anything like this?

Along for the ride blog #3

When in class we were given a chance to pick a book and read individually I immediately though of Sarahs Deesen book Along for the ride. However someone else wanted to read the same book also. I believe that Sarah Dessen is such a good writer that is why so many girls want to read it.

I think this book is so popular ( not just this book but all Sarahs Deesen books) because the writer really knows how to get the readers attention. She writes about the situations that might happen in real life or is already happening. She knows how hard sometimes it is to be a teenager and she connects with the reader. I really found a strong connection with this book and thats what kept me on wanting to read this book. This book is popular between the girls because they really can connect with the book. When i read a book sometimes I see myself as the main character of  the book witch gets me even more interested in the book. Sarah Dessen is a wonderful writer. She knows how to keep the suspense. When I am reading this book it is always keeping me on the edge of my chair because it is so interesting.  Sarah Dessen has very good writers skills. We defined many of these skills in class and i can certainly apply them to Sarah Dessen.

This is a wonderful website that talks about many of the good writers skills. On of the skills that i noticed in this book written by Sarah Dessen is description. She really knows how to describe and paint the picture in your head. In one of the passages she describes Eli the gay that the main character Auden sees for the first time. "He was walking slowly behind a group of older women dressed for a night out, all of them too tan and wearing bright colors". This is just a great description because I can really picture Eli walking down the street behind the old women.

When it comes to being a good writer I believe that it is important to have good writers skills. In thins book Along for the Ride Sarah Dessen is a good writer that keeps any teenage girl interested. I  believe that  the way Sarah Dessen knows how to connect with the reader that makes her writing so popular. If you have not read any of the Sarah Dessen books I really recommend to do that.

Along for the Ride Sarah Dessen Blog #2

While we read books, I believe that everyone have  their own favorite character. Auden was mine favorite character in  the book Along for the ride by Sarah Dessen. What interest me the most about Auden is that how much she changed from the beginning of  the book all the way to the end of the book. Also I was able to connect with Auden is some way or the other also.


Auden who starts out as being a little shy person, completely transforms herself into being very self confident and not being scared to speak up. Auden went to her dads house for the summer and she had to deal with her step mom and her step sister witch most of the time she did not really mind. However she always liked to keep to herself and never really talked with anyone about any of her problems or thinks that was bothering her. However when she meat Eli the guy at the town where her dad lived everything seemed to change. She finally had a person that she cloud talk with and open up. That is where I start thinking if one of the reasons why she kept to herself before was that she really did not have anyone or trust anyone to talk about her feeling. So Auden really gained a lot of trust for this guy and really opened up about her problems.


Of of the reasons why I connect with Auden is tha her parents are divorces liked mines. I know how does that feel and how hard it is sometimes to take it. That is why I believe tha Auden really did not want to talk about her problems because she though she can just deal with it herself witch is not always the right think to do. Dealing with divorce between your parents can be extremely hard. It was for me and I imagine that it was hard for her too.

While Auden was at her dads for the summer she changes in a good way. After her dad and his wife (her step mam) were fighting, she wanted to stop her dad from making the same mistake that he made while he was with her mom. I believe that Auden really grew up while she was at her dads and it made her to realize a lot.She started to realize that there are people that she can open up and talk about her problems. Also she wanted to help her dad relationship and make it better and make her dad to realize not to make the same mistakes.

Sometime change is good. I believe that Auden became so much more independent and she really found out how to speak up and be who she is.It was very interesting for me to see Auden grow and change for the better.

 Sarah Dessen is a very good writer. I always find myself attached to her books. This book got my attention because I new that it would be good because it is written by Sarah Dessen. Also there are many great reviews on this book witch made me even more intrested. From  the past in know that Sarah Dessen likes to write about the realationships that teenagers go on the daily bases. Auden is the main character in the book and i can already connect with her from the beggining of the book. Audens is going to star college in the fall but however her parants are divorced and she dicides to spend the summer with her father and his new family. The way that I connect to Auden is that my parents are divorced too. So sometimes I will spend the summer or winter break with my dad in Lithuania. I can just imagine the way she feels that her parents are divorced because I feel the same way. Many teenagers ger affected by the divorced and here is a link on how the teenagers get affected by their parents divorce.

It stars with Auden moving into the new town. She does not know anyone however while shes walking aroung town some of the boys start talking with her. One of the guys name is Jake. He envites Auden to the party that night but Auden does not pay much attention to him. However that night she disides to go the the party. When Auden gets there Jake instantly recognizes her and takes her aside. He starts to trie to connect with Auden, but she just gets up and leaves. This makes me think about how strong she is. There are so many girls that are taken advantage of. I believe it takes a strong personality to just stand up and say no to this nonsense. 

This book just keeps me wanting to read more and find out the end of it. It just so full of the surprises and I just cannot wait how it ends. There are many questions that are poping at my head right now. Is Auden going to find friends? Is she going to have a summer of her life? Will Auden fall in love with Jake or someone else? I cannot wait to read this book more and i hope to get all my questions answered.
